GRIPsher Released for Production!
– Tue, Aug 08, 2017 at 12:19:31 AM
Finally! After sorting through a few issues and dialing in molding parameters, we are proud to announce that we will be releasing the GRIPsher parts for full production! This is something we have been working hard towards and required several rounds of tooling samples to get perfect. Below we have included some shots of production units in packaging.
We will be posting another update by next Monday detailing the timeline of what will be happening from here. Basically, the manufacturer is now going to make several thousand of each part, assemble and inspect them, then ship them to us. From there, we will being doing another 100% quality check and then shipping them out to our backers!
We are continuing our rigorous testing routine to discover any potential issues but so far they have been exceeding any tests we have conducted. Simultaneously, we are working on detailed assembly instructions for our manufacturer to follow along with a quality control program to ensure every GRIPsher unit performs as expected.
We appreciate everyone's patience thus far on this journey and we can assure you, it will be well worth the wait.

The Final Stretch

Hello everyone
We are hoping everyone is enjoying their Forth of July weekend! We are on the last step of quality review before full production. Below are two of the most recent photos of units from our trial runs.
As you can see, they are about 95% of the way there and we will be getting to 100% shortly. Very minor issues are being addressed and changed to get to this spot. We have sent our packaging artwork as well as the Spyder Case design and they are in the process of begin refined as well.
Overall, we are very pleased with the quality and progress of our suppliers and manufacturers so far. While we are off on our initial timeline and delivery date, we are always posting as many updates as make sense to keep everyone well informed on the progress of this tool. We have full transparency this process and appreciate everyone who has come along for this journey!
As always, shoot us a message with any questions, thanks!

First Production Samples Complete!
– Wed, May 31, 2017 at 11:19:15 PM
Great news everyone, we have received and assembled the first GRIPsher made entirely out of production parts! They are looking great and have exceeded our expectations for the first round (T0) tooling samples.
Machined GRIPsher on Top, Production GRIPsher bottom
We have been running extensive testing on them to verify things such as strength, hardness, durability, etc to verify the quality of the parts and all are proving to be great. A majority of our initial concerns have proven to be unfounded and the parts are looking and performing at a very high level.
All production samples layed out (Injection Molding and Metal Injection Molding (MIM))
We have complied a list of minor problems (mostly aesthetic blemishes) for feedback to the manufacturer to correct. For the next round of samples, we are hoping to be as close to perfection as possible. This will hopefully happen in the next 2-3.5 weeks. Once we receive and verify the samples, we can go to full production! This would mean shipping units to customers in 2-4 months (entirely dependent on when the next sample round is complete and pending solving all the minor problems). We will be sure to post an update once these are complete.
As always. feel free to message us with any questions, thanks!

First Metal Sample Parts!
– Tue, May 09, 2017 at 05:49:16 PM
Great news everyone!
The first metal sample parts have been completed! We are now working through getting them refined and tested. You may see some slight blemishes which are expected for the first rounds, or the T0, parts. From here, we will need to refine the tooling by finding and documenting these issues, solving them (which should not be anything too hard given how minor they are) and then implementing them for the T1 round of testing.
These parts are being shipped to us now, half as is and half with the necessary post machining and engraving on them. We will thoroughly inspect each and physically verify the strength and hardness requirements are in place. With the Jaws being completed in the next few days, we are working towards making a fully (production part) GRIPsher sample for full testing in the next 2-3 weeks.
Below are some photos of the 17-4 Stainless Steel production parts. These are from our two MIM molds.

All part molds being made!
– Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 09:04:47 PM
Hey everyone,
Great news as we have finally given the go ahead for all of the mold tooling to proceed forward and begin to be made! This process took slightly longer than expected but will ensure all of the parts will come out of the mold with minimal modification.
What's next?
Within 3-5 weeks, we will begin to see the first samples (T0) come out of each mold. From here, we will be conducting a detailed analysis to verify dimensions, finish, straight, etc to ensure everything will assemble into a great multitool. Depending on how well the parts come out of the mold will dictate how long this process takes. We will be posting pictures as we get them so everyone can follow along the process. Updates will be provided whenever we get pictures or samples in hand of the process as well as periodic timeline updates.
