BackerKit, Shipping, and Wrapping up Round 1 of Manufacturing

Hey all,

We are excited to say things are finally starting to roll out.  We have sent a small percentage of the BackerKit updates out (to ensure there are no problems with the survey).  Once these go out, the rest will follow shortly behind later this week/early next week on a rolling basis. Please be sure to fill your BackerKit Survey out quickly and accurately as these will have all of the needed information in them to receive your reward promptly.

GRIPshers are almost done being manufactured and some are already on there way here. We will do a quick check of them first to identify if there are any issues then send them out immediately afterwards.  We had a slight delay a week ago after a set of 500 parts had to be rejected for cosmetic defects on some of the Stainless parts but the new batch looks great and we are pushing forward.

Thank you again everyone for your patience.  We know it has not been easy waiting and it seems silly that a small multi-tool could take a year to ship to backers.  However, we really appreciate everyone's continued support and are working as fast as we can to deliver a quality multi-tool. Once all the tools are sent out, we will be posting a more detailed timeline update so backers can see exactly which parts of the process took longer than others.

Shipping Update

Hello everyone!

Just a quick update from us.  All of the individual parts and components have been received by our Manufacturer (more than 40,000 individual components)! Some of them are being sent out to be blackened (for the Military and Black versions) while the rest are being laser engraved and assembled.  Once the first 1000 are built and complete, they will be packaged and shipped to us so that we can get them out to all of our Kickstarter backers first.

The first batch of GRIPshers (1000) are shipping out to us at the end of next week (25NOV).  We will receive them shortly after and then individually repackage them and ship them out to backers shortly afterwards!  The rest will be sent out 1-2 weeks later in the second batch.

Be on the lookout for the BackerKit survey email the beginning of next week where you may enter any shipping address changes or other special requests that you may have.

Wrapping Up Production and Finishing Beta Testing

Hey all,

First of all we would like to apologize for our lack of an update for so long.  Things were running smoothly and we overlook how long it was since the last update.  However, everything is still running great and we even had an opportunity to visit and inspect our factory and parts in person.

We verified our assembly process and inspected current components and assemblies to ensure quality standard were met and were happy to see they were all exceeded.  All of our parts were inspected visually as well as by several custom made fixtures, jigs, gauges, and other specialized processes.

Additionally, we had pulled several units off the line several weeks ago to have them inspected and used by various early backers as part of our Beta program.  Results were universally great and saw no failures and all exceeded individual users testing.

While we can summarize and say, the parts look great, the assemblies look great, GRIPsher performs awesome with certainty, we will not try to give an exact timeline again.  Units will be shipping in bulk to America soon (within the next few weeks).  Once we get them, we will give them a look over, repackage, and then ship them out to our backers (it will be before the holidays this year).  Thank you again for the patience and we are sure it will not disappoint! Our next update will be once the units are shipping to the US!

First Production Unit of each Color Packaged and off the Line!

Happy Friday Everyone!  We are proud to share the first GRIPsher production units of each color off the line today!

We are sure you will all be happy to know production is rolling right along!  We have been working closely with our Manufacturer as our assembly and package procedure is being validated and things have been going very smoothly!

At this point, it is simply a matter of time to make and ship the GRIPshers to our distribution facility. All outstanding issues have been resolved and all parts are being manufactured Everything is still roughly on track pending our Quality Inspection of Final units and are expected to arrive at our facility in 4-6 weeks.

As always, shoot us an email if you have specific questions.  No need to worry about updated shipping address; we will be sending out a survey to collect this all before shipping anything to ensure the recipient address is up to date and accurate.
